DALLAS, TX, February 9, 1998 -- Allegiance Telecom, Inc. has signed an agreement with MetaSolv Software, Inc. to support Allegiance's critical business operations, including customer care, order management, service provisioning, network design, work management and trouble management.
MetaSolv provides convergent operations support system (OSS) solutions for companies like Allegiance. MetaSolv's Telecom Business Solution (TBS) software will enable Allegiance to take a request for service, check for equipment availability and design a circuit for either basic service, SONET or broadband service. TBS then sends that information by means of an interconnection gateway to a management system that controls the elements for service activation.
"Today, a key competitive advantage in the telecommunications industry is a company's ability to manage customer information," said Steve Holland, senior vice president and chief information officer for Allegiance. "The traditional phone companies today are using legacy systems that lack interaction of the systems and can't easily provide an immediate profile view of the customer.
