DALLAS, TX, February 2, 1998 -- Jerry Sklar joined Allegiance Telecom, Inc., a competitive local exchange carrier headquartered in Dallas, as the Company's vice president of marketing.
Sklar brings 16 years of experience in the telecommunications industry to Allegiance. Prior to joining the Company, Sklar served as director of strategic sales for Octel Network Services (now Lucent Technologies), where he was responsible for developing sales and marketing strategies to penetrate the Fortune 100 marketplace with outsourced voice messaging solutions. Sklar also held both sales management and sales administration positions at Sprint.
Allegiance plans to provide Dallas businesses with a full package of telecommunications services, including local, long distance, international calling, high-speed data transmission and Internet services. Service in Dallas is scheduled to be turned up in the first quarter of this year. The Company is targeting 24 major metropolitan areas in the U.S. with its "one-stop shopping" approach. Other markets scheduled for initial service in 1998 include Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles and New York.
